I am honoring Jenn because her enthusiasm and desire to make the world a better place is an inspiration to me every day
Jenn is a young woman who works as a political organizer for the Oregon Nurses Association in Portland, Oregon. She works tirelessly to fight for the working rights of nurses in the state, some of the most valuable and under-appreciated members of our society. She works directly with nurses, the legislature, and partner organizations to advocate for the best working conditions for Nurses, and the best Health Care for patients.
And while her efforts in this initiative are noteworthy, it's not my reason for being so amazed by her on a daily basis. That comes from her unchallenged resolve to always demand the best from people, and never waiver on her belief that everyone can do their part to make a difference in the world.
Jenn is currently taking time away from her job to run the political campaign for a State Representative candidate in Portland. She does this not for personal gain or notary, but because she believes in her candidate and wants to help her community. It's a thankless, behind the scenes job, working long hours seven days a week to ensure working class people in her community have a voice and are represented.
She does all of this with absolute grace and humility. I consider myself privileged to know her, and having her in my life has made me a better man and I will be eternally grateful.
